Battle Report: Terror at the Settlement

The second cycle of conflict in Sector G12 began with the Glimmer Gang (Delaque) challenging The Blood Relatives (Spyre Hunters) over control of a Settlement. Opting for an ambush scenario, the Delaque sought to ensnare the Spyrers in a carefully laid trap—but the plan went disastrously wrong.

The Glimmer Gang split into two groups of three, stalking the streets in near-silence. Spotting the Yeld Yasmin with mechanical wings out-stretched and Malcolm the Malcadon seemingly exposed on a high platform, the Phantom known as Whisper lined up a shot with his Long Rifle and squeezed the trigger but the round sailed past its mark. It was at this point the Glimmer Gang knew they had screwed up.

Malcolm reacted instantly, using his grappling hook to escape danger, while Yasmin unleashed a devastating rocket barrage towards the Glimmer gang. Her first volley missed, but the second struck true, reducing Abnoth the Shadow to a smouldering ruin.

Meanwhile, on the other side Umbra and Gloom ran forward and attempted to slow down the now advancing Spyrers, their shots scraping away layers of armour and briefly hampering Jessie the Jakara. But when Jessie struck back, she did so with terrifying speed. With a single precise strike of her monomolecular blade, she sliced Gloom’s head clean from his shoulders, leaving their body twitching in a widening pool of blood.

Jessie then charged straight at Whisper, who narrowly avoided her deadly blade and countered with his shock staff. The weapon crackled as it overloaded her hunting rig with bursts of electricity, stunning her just long enough for him to deliver the final blow with a toxic sidearm. Jessie collapsed, her systems shorted, but she would later avoid any permanent damage.

Elsewhere, Glimmer Gang leader Brangwen advanced towards a supply crate but found himself out of position, unable to lend support. Tenebrous attempted to spray Yasmin with autogun fire, but his bullets went wide. It was the last mistake he would make in the fight—Spyre Hunt Master Digby calmly levelled his laser gauntlet and vaporised Tenebrous with a single, precise shot.

Realising that their ambush had collapsed, the surviving members of the Glimmer Gang faded back into the shadows, choosing to retreat rather than face complete annihilation. With their failure, they relinquished control of the Settlement to the victorious Blood Relatives.

The Aftermath: Terror in the Settlement

Stopping the Glimmer Gang from owning the settlement, the Blood Relatives launched a brutal purge, turning the area into a hunting ground to reassert their dominance. Innocents fled or perished in the wake of their rampage.

Though Jessie had been taken out of action, her suit remained intact, and she avoided any lasting damage. The Glimmer Gang, however, was not so fortunate. Their losses were severe, and their reputation among the underhive’s power players took a sharp decline.

The first battle of Cycle Two has set a grim tone—if even the masters of deception can be outmanoeuvred, what hope do the other gangs have? The Blood Relatives have reclaimed lost pride after their previous defeat, while the Glimmer Gang slinks away to lick its wounds.
