Battle Report: Smash and Grab in the Old Ruins
The Old Ruins are a place for subtlety—or so the Glimmer Gang thought. Lurking in the shadows, the Delaque crew sought to pick off members of The Entourage while they moved in to secure precious loot. But The Entourage weren’t in the mood to sneak around. They took up careful positions among the crumbling towers and shattered foundations.
Ratling Mueller’s keen eyes spotted a shadow ahead and kicked things off with a crack shot at the Glimmer Gang sniper, a Phantom known only as Whisper. He missed—badly.
Whisper returned the favour with deadly efficiency, knocking Mueller from his perch with a single round. Fortunately, it was just a flesh wound. Bruised ego. Still breathing.
Diligent Ironfist wasted no time. With a snarl, he levelled his plasma gun and took down Whisper in a searing blast of energy. The Phantom fell three stories and crumpled into the rubble below—out of action.
Birdman took a shot at Teneborous on the flank but missed—and was promptly punished. Twice. He finally went down under sustained fire, but Mueller scrambled over and patched him up—just another flesh wound, by the grace of the Emperor (and definitely not some alien concept like the Greater Good, no sir).
Meanwhile, Sir Hugo, technically the ranking officer (when he’s not polishing his monogrammed laspistol), was issuing encouragement to Prudent, barking at him to hit something with his grenade launcher. Prudent's aim was... inconsistent—but loud. Shots landed everywhere—shrapnel caught Brangwen, and a direct blast threw Juve Mithrha to the ground, bleeding and broken.
Meanwhile, Borys fired at Juve Zee and managed to flesh wound the upstart. But he got cocky, closing in too far—close enough for a desperate charge from the newly recruited Delaque shadow. With a crack of his shock baton, the juve brained Borys and left him twitching, unconscious. Prudent saw his friend fall and let out an angry roar.
Diligent swung his plasma gun to another target and blew a hole clean through Juve Abnoth with a well-placed blast.
Prudent, still roaring, directed his fire toward Zee, seriously injuring him and making sure there would be scars to remember this fight.
Vesker exchanged fire with Umbra in a deadly standoff. A few bursts later, Umbra came off worse—and from there, the Delaque lines began to falter. All their Juves, sniper and Leader Brangwen were out of action and the rest fell back, defeated.
Notably absent was the Entourage’s Ponsomby—still recovering from a shattered spine in the last battle. He’ll live, but he didn’t make it out of his bunk for this one.
Borys, however, somehow walked away from his beatdown richer in experience—learning through pain, as they say.
The Glimmer Gang suffered another brutal engagement. Starting with a skeleton crew and later reinforced by green Juves, they struggled to match the battle-hardened rogue-trader crew of the Entourage.
After the battle, the Glimmer rushed Juve Abnoth to the doc—but he succumbed to his wounds before they arrived. Rumours swirled among the Juves that the leadership could have paid to save him but chose not to. Brangwen shut down that talk—harshly.
The Entourage walk away victorious, battered but breathing. The Glimmer Gang lick their wounds and count their losses.
But the Old Ruins remember. And next time, there may be a reckoning.
